Annually UCT has well over 30 000 students enrolled for either undergraduate or postgraduate programmes.

While the on-going preventative measures related to the COVID-19 pandemic still makes it necessary to exercise caution – for example the wearing of masks, social distancing, sanitising or washing hands frequently and avoiding crowded spaces – UCT is nevertheless finding ways to provide you with a fully fledged university experience.

As a UCT student you do not only have access to many support facilities, but you will also be able to join in a wide range of extra-curricular activities and clubs on campus, spend time getting to know other students and make friendships that could last a lifetime.

Studying at university demands a lot of hard work. However, every faculty and department has people and programmes in place to help you succeed, because your success is UCT’s success. We want you to realise your goals by graduating, and going on to contribute to the socio-economic development of South Africa, the African continent and globally.

We want you to feel at home at UCT while you complete your programme of study. Here we share information on key services and societies you can connect and engage with while on campus.

As with your studies, your personal goals and life in general, what you put into your campus life experience is what you will get out of it. We encourage you to make the most of your time at UCT as a student, and to enjoy healthy, positive and affirming activities.
