UCT is Africa’s leading university and one of the best in the world, with strong networks across the continent. This gives our partners access to researchers and projects with a global impact.

UCT is co-leading four of the 17 Africa–Europe Clusters of Research Excellence (CoRE), an initiative that will address head-on the inequity that has characterised research in relation to Africa, to the detriment of global science.

UCT is a member of the U7+ Alliance of World Universities, a global network that brings together leaders from over 50 universities across five continents, committed to addressing some of the world’s most pressing challenges

UCT and the University of Bristol’s Professorship and Fellowship Programme is a shared academic exchange intended to advance Africa’s place in global knowledge production to benefit the continent and the international community.

UCT is part of a consortium of partners in the GreenQUEST project funded by the German Federal Ministry of Education and Research. Shaped by the inputs of more than 50 scientists towards accelerating sustainable energy solutions in Africa
